Where buyers go wrong with licorice in Iceland

The short version: licorice in Iceland works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a licorice pen device really costs in Iceland
Licorice prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Iceland that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ISK2.94 per 10 ml.
How we tested licorice in a pen device
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Iceland, which is 20 mg/mL for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–8 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Stock depth: 23 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a licorice bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where licorice goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Iceland accept nicotine freight.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long licorice in Iceland survives.
- Assuming 20 mg/mL is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Iceland need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Iceland caps nicotine at 20 mg/ml and requires a nicotine licence to sell.
